A 25-foot-long fire truck, complete with fire hose and pressure gauges, appeared atop the dome on September 11, 2006, marking the fifth anniversary of the terrorist strike against the U.S. The MIT Mens et Manus seal on the door was altered to portray two fire fighters and the word “meminimus,” Latin for “we remember.” A mock fire fighter sat inside the cab, which was adorned with a flashing red light.
